Job summary

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking an Emergency Medicine Consultant to deliver first-class care on the front line within a designated trauma unit and to contribute to the design of a brand-new Emergency Centre.

You will work with senior medical and nursing colleagues to provide leadership, teaching, and management of the department, participate in on-call duties, and develop specialist interests while pursuing national and local clinical targets.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-class clinical care in Emergency Medicine as part of the team.
• Offer clinical leadership and supervision to junior medical and nursing staff.
• Share in the management and administrative workload of the Department.
• Develop specialist interests within Emergency Medicine.
• Contribute to treatment protocols and clinical guidelines.
• Participate in an on-call rota with colleagues to cover out-of-hours.
• Develop enhanced clinical skills in acutely ill patients.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork within a multi-professional team.
• Deliver clinical and quality targets agreed with clinicians and commissioners.
• Follow patients through their clinical pathways.
