Job summary

Harmony Fire Ltd. is seeking an Emergency Lighting Specialist to own the new in‑house capability for Auro Lume. You will survey sites, design compliant schemes and commission installations to BS 5266 standards, becoming the in‑house authority on emergency lighting.

This client‑facing, pre‑construction role is based in London, with growth opportunities, training and a competitive package including private medical insurance and pension, plus generous holiday and bonus potential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in emergency lighting design, survey and commissioning.
• Strong working knowledge of BS 5266 and UK regulatory framework.
• Proficient in lighting design software to produce lux calculations and layouts.
• Client-facing, pre-construction experience with consultants and owners.
• Organised and detail-oriented with multi-project management.

Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed surveys of client sites to assess existing emergency lighting and define scope for new or replacement schemes.
• Design compliant emergency lighting systems — producing lux calculations, layout drawings, and specifications.
• Produce clear, professional design packages and reports for clients, consultants and specifiers.
• Commission emergency lighting installations to BS 5266 standards with full certification and evidence.
• Act as Harmony’s in-house technical authority on emergency lighting and support sales/pre-construction teams.
• Build relationships with clients, consultants and specifiers to position Harmony as the preferred partner.
• Support pre-construction and estimating teams with accurate scope definition and technical input.
• Keep up-to-date with changes to standards, products and technologies.
• Maintain comprehensive records of surveys, designs, commissions and certification.
