Job summary

SGN is recruiting for an Apprentice Emergency Gas Responder across southern England, including Oxford, Witney and nearby towns. The scheme pays £29,200 per year while learning and will progress to Gas Safe Registration after completion.

You will train at college block-release across 3 years and support engineers in emergencies, meter work, and gas pipework installation, with shift and standby opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3 National 5 grades A-C including Maths & English
• Willingness to commit to up to 3 years of training
• Must be able to drive or pass test within 6–12 months
• Attend training centres away from home as required
• Aspire to Gas Safe Registration after apprenticeship

Responsibilities

• Responding to reported gas emergencies
• Installation and replacement of gas meters
• Installing, testing and commissioning internal gas pipework
• Promoting health and safety in gas service/repair activities
