Job summary

Ipsum Utilities Limited is seeking a Civils Drainage Engineer to respond to drainage emergencies and carry out planned works across the Midlands. You will diagnose faults, clear blockages, perform high-pressure jetting, and repair or install drainage assets to stringent safety and quality standards.

The role requires a Full UK Driving Licence and experience with CCTV drainage surveys and jetting equipment. A range of training and development opportunities, plus company benefits, are provided.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in the drainage industry.
• Experience in blocked drain clearance and drainage repairs.
• Knowledge of drainage systems, foul water systems, surface water systems and sewer networks.
• Experience of using high-pressure water jetting equipment.
• Ability to diagnose drainage faults and identify appropriate repair solutions.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• CCTV Drainage Survey, High Pressure Water Jetting, NRSWA, Confined Space, CSCS or First Aid qualifications (desirable).
• Experience working on social housing and local authority contracts (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Attending emergency and planned drainage work within agreed response times.
• Investigating and diagnosing drainage faults, blockages, flooding and system failures.
• Carrying out drain unblocking using rods, high-pressure water jetting equipment and specialist drainage tools.
• Repairing and replacing damaged pipework, gullies, manholes, interceptors and associated drainage assets.
• Undertaking excavations and reinstatement works where required.
• Installing new drainage systems, connections and associated infrastructure.
• Conducting CCTV drainage surveys to identify defects and recommend remedial solutions.
• Completing drainage rehabilitation works including patch lining and pipe repairs where qualified.
• Identifying root ingress, collapsed drains, displaced joints and structural defects.
• Completing accurate electronic job reports, survey findings and photographic records.
• Ensuring all works are delivered in accordance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
