Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clinical Educator for the Emergency Department at the Royal Derby Hospital. The role focuses on clinical education, mentorship and development of nursing staff in a fast-paced ED setting.

Induction and development package provided. Applicants should have an interest in education, with evidence of mentoring and teaching across learner levels; internal secondment is welcome with line-manager support.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered nurse with NMC registration.
• Experience in education, mentoring and developing staff.
• Experience in an acute hospital setting preferred.
• Evidence of high standards of practice for patient care.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate new and existing staff in becoming competent practitioners.
• Teach, supervise and mentor in the clinical setting.
• Coordinate development activities and mandatory training.
• May work clinically within the nursing team when required.
