Overview

Job Summary: An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Reception team in the Emergency Department and Urgent Treatment Centre at RLI on a fixed term basis of 6 months. Any hours up to full time hours will be considered. You will be the first point of contact for many of our patients and will be required to have excellent communication and hospitality skills.

Shifts: 07:30-15:30, 08:00-20:00, 08:30-20:30, 15:30-23:30, 21:30-07:30. This is a varied rota and you must be available to work all of the above shifts. Your rota will be allocated six weeks in advance; however, due to some shifts being longer than others, you may work slightly more hours one week and fewer the next.

  • Provide a wide range of admin and receptionist skills whilst dealing with patients in a sensitive and efficient manner.
  • Be responsible for booking in patients who self present to the department or arrive by emergency ambulance.
  • Deal with telephone enquiries from patients and relatives.
About Us

We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises. Details include Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services with full Emergency Departments and related units, while WGH provides an Urgent Treatment Centre for non-life threatening conditions. All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care and diagnostics across Morecambe Bay.
