Job summary

UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL SOUTHAMPTON NHS FOUNDATION TRUST is seeking a Clinical Practice Educator to support the Emergency Department and Division B Education. You will deliver teaching and clinical education to healthcare professionals, working independently and with the education team to raise patient experience through staff development.

The role requires registered nurses with ED experience, a teaching qualification or mentorship training, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with significant clinical experience in and emergency department.
• RCN competency framework for emergency nurses Level 1 is desirable.
• Teaching qualification or equivalent mentorship/Practice Assessor/Coaching course.

Responsibilities

• Support nursing staff and healthcare assistants in the ED with their educational needs.
• Develop education strategies with the clinical area and senior clinical educator to deliver department-based education.
• Provide opportunities for professional development for staff and learners.
• Respond to local and Trust-wide clinical training needs.
• Support learners in practice including students, apprentices and staff seeking further education.
