Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department at Queens Hospital Burton. You will work across Pitstop, Majors, resus and the urgent treatment centre, supporting both adults and children with comprehensive induction and in-house education.

Qualifications

• NMC registration is mandatory.
• Experience in an acute trust is essential.
• Completion of practice supervisor/accessor or working towards.
• Ability to assess risks and take appropriate action.
• Ability to manage own workload with prioritisation.

Responsibilities

• Prioritise, assess, plan, evaluate and deliver high-standard care.
• Work with the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to clinical governance.
• Act as mentor/preceptor to junior staff and pre-registration students.
• Participate in a structured competency-based programme in all ED areas.
