Job description

Emergency Department Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse for the Emergency Department at Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend. This full-time, permanent role involves supporting the senior nursing team to ensure high standards of patient care, managing staff, and leading specific areas within the department. The position requires shift work, including days and nights, with a salary range of £37,898 to £45,637 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have post-registration experience as a Band 5 in Emergency Care, demonstrate leadership and change management skills, and possess excellent communication abilities. Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential.

Key responsibilities include assisting in department management, staff supervision, attending meetings, handling complaints, and contributing to service improvements. A short presentation at interview will be required.

Applicants must hold UK NMC registration, have significant ED experience, and meet the specified qualifications and experience criteria outlined in the person specification.
