Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated data coder to support the data quality service in the Emergency Department. The post holder will translate clinical information into accurate diagnostic, intervention and procedure codes and help improve discharge information for patients and GPs.

You will work with clinical and clerical staff, meet daily coding targets, seek clinician input when information is unclear, review discharge letters before discharge, and maintain databases

• Review electronic clinical information and translate into accurate diagnostic, intervention and procedure codes
• Meet daily coding targets and deadlines
• Seek clinician input when information is unclear
• Coordinate with clinical and clerical staff to resolve coding issues
• Cover for colleagues when required
• Discuss complex coding issues with the Trust Data Quality Team
• Be mindful of translating distressing information
• Review discharge letters to ensure data quality before discharge
• Maintain databases and departmental spreadsheets
• Ensure data entered is accurate across information systems
