Job description
Overview

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust provides emergency services at our Minor Injuries Unit (UHCW) and Urgent Treatment Centre (St Cross Hospital in Rugby and City of Coventry Health Centre). All sites have dedicated facilities and allocated staff to provide care 7 days a week 24 hours a day.

Role

We are seeking Emergency Care Practitioners (Adult only) to join our dynamic team within the Minor Injuries Unit/Urgent Treatment Centre. The practitioner will deliver high quality, timely care to patients presenting with minor injury and illness. This is a fast paced, independent role requiring excellent clinical reasoning and decision making skills.

Responsibilities
  • The post holder will be working as an ECP within a busy Minor Injury and Illness Unit and Urgent Treatment Centre under a scope of practice; seeing, treating and independently discharging patients as required.
  • The post holder will work with Senior EP colleagues to deliver a high quality, effective and sustainable service.
  • The post holder will undertake a training post and is supported to complete a Minor Injury and Minor Illness University course with an EP portfolio to work towards to becoming a qualified EP.
  • The post holder will work in good partnership with multi-disciplinary team. Teaching and education program for the EP is provided annually. This post will be rotational across two sites.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Applicants must hold Level 6/7 PGCert/PGDip in minor illness/illness, and look to consolidate your experience. You will be supported to develop in line with NHS England UEC Practitioner framework.
  • Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
