Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Care Complex at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. You will work across the Emergency Department and Acute Assessment Unit, delivering high‑quality patient care and developing specialist skills in emergency and acute medical care.

The role offers rotation across day and night shifts, with ongoing professional development support and access to NHS benefits.

Qualifications

• Current NMC Registration as a Registered Nurse (Level 1).
• Broad knowledge of medical nursing practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for allocated patients.
• Deliver safe, evidence‑based nursing care in ED and AAU.
• Coordinate patient care from admission to discharge with colleagues and carers.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with NMC standards.
• Support and supervise healthcare support workers and students.
• Contribute to audits and quality improvement.
• Respond to deteriorating patients and emergencies, communicating with families.
