Job summary

Qualifications

• Current NMC Registration as a Registered Nurse (Level 1).
• Broad knowledge and understanding of medical nursing practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organisational skills to prioritise workload in a busy emergency care environment.
• Ability to work independently while recognising when to seek support from senior nursing colleagues.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning in the speciality.
• Flexibility to participate in rotational shift patterns, including day and night duty.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for allocated patients.
• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care in the Emergency Department and Acute Assessment Unit.
• Coordinate care from admission to discharge with multidisciplinary colleagues and community services.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with NMC standards.
• Support and supervise healthcare support workers and student nurses.
• Contribute to audits, quality improvement, risk management and evidence-based practice.
• Respond to deteriorating patient conditions and emergencies with effective communication to patients and families.
