Language Business in Chester is seeking an experienced EMEA Senior Tax Manager to own a portfolio of European markets and lead a team of tax professionals. You will work with senior finance stakeholders across our European organisation to deliver tax excellence.

The role covers European direct tax, US GAAP tax reporting, VAT, transfer pricing exposure and Pillar Two, with a strong focus on governance, automation and strategic tax initiatives.

Qualifications

• CTA/ACA/ACCA or equivalent professional qualification required.
• Experience in tax accounting, tax provisioning and supporting statutory audits.
• Hands-on experience managing tax audits and enquiries with tax authorities.
• Good working knowledge of VAT and reviewing external advisers' compliance work.
• Proven experience coaching and developing tax professionals.
• Ability to challenge external advisers and engage with senior stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex tax matters to non-tax colleagues.
• Interest in tax technology, automation and continuous process improvement.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple markets and deadlines.

Responsabilités

• Lead European tax compliance across multiple European markets and coordinate with local advisers.
• Oversee tax reporting including US GAAP tax reporting.
• Manage tax audits and enquiries with tax authorities.
• Provide technical expertise and review external advisers' work on direct tax and VAT.
• Advise stakeholders with clear, practical guidance on tax matters.
• Drive governance by monitoring Pillar Two developments and impact.
• Lead and develop a tax team, coaching professionals.
• Improve processes and contribute to the Centre of Excellence strategy.
