Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Tax Manager to join the European Tax Centre of Excellence (COE) in Chester. The role leads direct tax for multiple European markets including the UK, working with local finance teams and external advisers to deliver high‑quality tax processes.

You will gain hands‑on US GAAP tax reporting experience, collaborate on PillarTwo and UK tax governance, and act as a trusted internal consultant across finance and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant and/or CTA/ACCA/ACA with tax accounting and audit experience
• Experience managing external advisers and reviewing deliverables with technical rigour
• Strong communication skills for finance colleagues and non‑tax stakeholders
• Interest in tax technology, process improvement, and automation
• Organised and able to manage multiple markets and deadlines
• Fluent in English; other languages are a bonus

Responsibilities

• Lead full direct tax cycle for own markets—corporate income tax return prep with external advisers
• Gain hands-on US GAAP experience—preparing and submitting US tax reporting with TaxStream
• Work across UK tax governance: SAO, Tax Strategy, CCO, PillarTwo
• Act as internal consultant – advise finance and business stakeholders on tax matters
• Shape COE’s strategy around standardisation, automation, and continuous improvement
• Monitor legislative changes and communicate implications to stakeholders
