Job summary

Goldman Sachs in Birmingham is seeking an Associate for Regulatory Engagement and Regional Compliance to support the Office of Regulatory Relations and RCC team. You will contribute to regulatory interactions, data gathering, and reporting across EMEA.

You will coordinate with FCA/PRA, assist in audits, and help manage governance frameworks and regulatory change initiatives. A strong analytical mindset and excellent communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in UK Regulatory engagement role or similar function.
• Familiarity with UK and / or EU financial services regulatory framework.
• Experience in Compliance or a risk-based function.
• Experience of delivering strategic projects / change management.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure.
• Demonstrates excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• A team player who can work both independently and collaboratively and is able to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, changing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret / clarify regulatory requests for information.
• Identify data sources / owners, obtaining and reviewing data to produce responses.
• Liaise with FCA / PRA to coordinate regulatory meetings, audits and reviews.
• Work with Compliance areas and the business to produce responses ahead of audits/reviews; attend related onsite meetings with the FCA.
• Support governance arrangements, including the framework for Senior Manager Arrangements.
• Operate across regulatory programme workstreams to deliver compliant solutions.
• Provide analytical, documentary support to compliance project managers and other Compliance members.
• Participate in working groups for regulatory change development and implementation.
• Produce Compliance Management reporting and materials.
• Oversee compilation and reporting of the annual EMEA Compliance business plan.
• Lead and participate in conduct initiatives for the EMEA Compliance division.
• Facilitate regulatory licensing applications and fee payments for new/expanded business.
• Coordinate submission of Compliance-owned non-financial regulatory reports.
