We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Application Engineer Ops Lead to lead our Metrology Applications Engineering team. This role is critical in bridging the gap between product development, customer requirements, and technical support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in precision measurement technologies, team leadership, and customer-facing engineering support.
Team Leadership & Development
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Application Engineers specialising in metrology solutions.
• Set performance goals, conduct regular reviews, and support professional development.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
Technical Project Management
• Oversee the planning and execution of metrology application projects and day-today workload, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and company
objectives.
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts between R&D, Sales, and Product Management.
Customer Engagement
• Serve as a technical liaison for key customers, providing expert guidance on metrology solutions and system integration.
• Support post-sales activities, including Application services such as training, PDI’s, software programming, contract inspection and support/troubleshooting.
Solution Development
• Drive the development and customization of metrology applications to meet specific industry needs (e.g., medicial, automotive, aerospace and defence).
• Evaluate and implement new measurement technologies and methodologies.
Quality & Compliance
• Ensure all metrology solutions comply with industry standards and internal quality protocols.
• Support audits and documentation for ISO and other regulatory requirements.
• 7+ years of experience in metrology, precision measurement, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role.
• Strong knowledge of metrology tools and systems (e.g., CMMs, portable devices).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with CAD/CAM software and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with automation and control systems.
• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, automotive,aerospace, defence).
• Hands-on experience with Hexagon metrology software platforms such as PC-DMIS, Spatial Analyzer, Inspire, and other related tools.
