About the Role

We are seeking a results-driven Materials Manager to join our team based from our Norwich manufacturing facility. This critical leadership position will oversee our team of Planner Buyers and be responsible for managing and optimising the end-to-end supply chain of electronic components and products into our factory.

The successful candidate will be a key driver of supply chain efficiency, ensuring the right materials are available at the right time to meet production schedules while minimizing inventory risk. This role is instrumental in supporting production, working closely with Master Schedulers, Procurement, and other key stakeholders to deliver on-time production with optimal inventory health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Planner Buyers to deliver consistent material availability and supplier performance.
  • Own and manage material planning processes, aligning supply with production demand and master scheduling.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Master Scheduling, and Procurement to drive alignment and supply continuity.
  • Optimize inventory levels by improving inventory turns, reducing excess and obsolete stock, and aligning inventory value to forecast and plan.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on supply chain performance metrics including supplier on-time delivery (OTD), inventory value, and forecast accuracy.
  • Drive continuous improvement through the use of Fortive Business System (FBS) tools, focusing on inventory value reduction and supplier performance improvements.
  • Lead initiatives to mitigate supply chain risk, identify constraints, and proactively resolve material shortages.
  • Actively contribute as a member of the Fluke EMEA Operations Leadership Team, supporting strategic operations initiatives across the region.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience developing high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated success in driving improvements in inventory performance, supply planning, and supplier delivery.
  • Deep understanding of MRP/ERP systems and supply planning tools.
  • Proficiency with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies (FBS, Kaizen, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Analytical and data-driven approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with Fortive Business System or similar structured lean/CI systems.
  • Background in electronics manufacturing or a similar high-precision, fast-paced industry.
