Job summary

Nscale seeks a Director, Legal, Infrastructure, EMEA to lead end-to-end contracting for data centre campuses across EMEA from term sheet to delivery. You will negotiate with major counterparties, tailor positions for local markets, and work with local counsel as needed.

You will manage owner-contractor, EPC/EPCM, and design-and-build agreements, plus design and consultancy contracts with architects and engineers, ensuring robust risk allocation and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• 7+ years PQE in construction and infrastructure law
• Qualified solicitor or barrister in England and Wales (or other EMEA) in good standing
• Proven track record negotiating major construction, EPC/EPCM, design-and-build, and equipment supply agreements
• Experience across multiple EMEA jurisdictions and managing local counsel
• Fluency in risk allocation: pricing, warranties, indemnities, and dispute provisions
• Confident first-chair negotiator handling multiple high-value contracts

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiation of owner-contractor, EPC/EPCM, and design-and-build agreements for data centre projects across EMEA
• Draft and negotiate design and consultancy agreements with architects and engineers
• Negotiate supply, installation, and O&M agreements for power generation and critical equipment
• Support site acquisitions, ground leases, and power procurement in coordination with regulators and counsel
• Maintain and improve contract templates and playbooks using JCT/NEC/FIDIC forms
• Run counterparty comment rounds and drive consistent positions across projects
• Manage contracts through delivery, closeout, changes, and payments
• Coordinate insurance and bonding requirements with the insurance team
• Manage external counsel and budgets; partner with cross-functional teams for project delivery
