Job Description:

The Hospitality Project Manager is responsible for the procurement, planning, staffing, coordination, and administration of hotel design and architecture projects. This role requires a deep understanding of hospitality design, project execution, and collaboration with clients, consultants, and internal teams to deliver high-quality hotel environments.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Client Relations

1. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the hotel and hospitality sector.
2. Develop strong relationships with hotel developers, operators, and key stakeholders.
3. Collaborate with the Contracts Administrator to prepare and issue proposals/contracts.
4. Lead presentations and pitch meetings for potential hospitality projects.

Project Management & Execution

1. Develop detailed work plans and scopes of work, including assembling the project team, fee structures, and schedules specific to hotel projects.
2. Oversee the full project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to the design concept, brand standards, and client expectations.
3. Manage project profitability, staff utilization, and coordinate with the Finance Team for invoicing and collections.
4. Work closely with the Managing Director(s) and Finance Manager to address profitability, staffing, and accounts receivable concerns.
5. Ensure compliance with local building codes, accessibility regulations, and hotel brand standards.

Design Coordination & Oversight

1. Lead and oversee design development, from conceptualization to execution, ensuring alignment with the client’s vision and the hotel's operational needs.
2. Coordinate work performed internally and externally by consultants, ensuring seamless integration of architectural, interior, and engineering elements.
3. Establish and manage the project team, budget, and schedule while ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
4. Monitor contracts and adjust scope based on client requests or additional service requirements.
5. Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams, overseeing productivity and quality of work.
6. Assign tasks and coordinate with Project/Design Managers for optimal team utilization.
7. Deliver constructive feedback and guidance to junior staff.

Education and Work Experience

1. Degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture, with a strong focus on hospitality design.
2. 10+ years of experience managing hotel design and architecture projects at various scales.
3. Professional licensure and/or accreditation preferred (e.g., AIA, NCARB, NCIDQ, LEED, WELL).
4. Proven ability to manage luxury and boutique hotel projects, from concept to completion.
5. Strong client relationship management skills and experience working with hotel operators, developers, and brands.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Extensive knowledge of hospitality-focused materials, furnishings, and construction methods.
2. Deep understanding of hotel brand standards, guest experience considerations, and operational efficiency in hotel design.
3. Expertise in building systems, codes, and EMEA-specific hospitality regulations.
4. Strong contract negotiation skills with consultants, vendors, and contractors.
5. Ability to resolve complex contract and administration issues within hospitality design parameters.
6. Advanced MS Office Suite skills.
7. Proficiency in Revit and Adobe Creative Suite for design documentation and presentations.
8. Strong presentation and communication skills, with experience leading client meetings and consultant coordination.
9. Ability to lead and mentor multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced hotel design environment.
