Job Description:

The EMEA Head of Equity Derivatives Production Support is accountable for managing a complex Equity Derivatives trading and risk technology environment, providing technology support to a large-scale business. The role leads a team of professionals based in London, Paris, and Pune, requiring a comprehensive understanding of derivatives trading & risk management and how technology supports business objectives.

Strong commercial awareness is essential. The role involves engaging with senior stakeholders in Trading, Control Functions, and Application Development. Excellent communication skills are required to negotiate and influence outcomes at a senior level.

Accountable for the outcomes of an area, exercising control over resources, policy, and planning. Full management responsibility includes managing people, budgets, performance evaluations, hiring, disciplinary actions, terminations, and budget approvals.

Responsibilities:
  • Understand how application support integrates within the overall technology function to achieve objectives; requires industry knowledge.
  • Enhance service levels, operational efficiencies, incident and problem management, and knowledge sharing.
  • Guide development teams on stability and supportability improvements.
  • Implement frameworks for capacity, throughput, and latency management.
  • Establish onboarding guidelines and standards for applications.
  • Coach team members to maximize their potential and work effectively in a highly integrated environment.
  • Drive cost reductions and efficiencies through root cause analysis, knowledge management, performance tuning, and training.
  • Evaluate performance and make decisions on personnel actions.
  • Participate in business review meetings, aligning technology strategies with business needs.
  • Ensure adherence to support processes and standards, and work on process improvements.
  • Negotiate with senior leaders and communicate with external parties as needed.
  • Manage multiple teams, including resource management, budgeting, and planning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Assess risks in business decisions, ensuring compliance, ethical conduct, and control issues management.
Qualifications:
  • Experience managing a Production Support function in a fast-paced trading or risk management environment.
  • Senior to advanced support role experience with people management skills.
  • Strong technical background: SQL, Windows, Linux; scripting or coding experience advantageous.
  • Experience managing senior stakeholders.
  • Proven project management skills in IT service improvements.
  • Capacity planning and forecasting experience is a plus.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.

An additional responsibility is to lead senior initiatives for enhanced Resiliency capabilities, including creating roadmaps, influencing leaders, managing escalations, and reporting.
