Overview

As an Equity Research Analyst or Associate within the top ranked Media Equity Research Team, you will cultivate a deep understanding of equities, markets, and companies with emphasis on the Media sector. You will collaborate with a top-tier team under the mentorship of senior analysts to create insightful reports on companies, sectors, and thematic trends, and convey our team's insights on stocks and sectors to institutional clients. You will be part of a collaborative team with substantial responsibility and exposure early in your career, with extensive training and professional development across the department to support career progression.

Responsibilities

• Work with senior colleagues in the team to provide thought-leadership to institutional clients with respect to the Media sector with potential for stock coverage based on candidate readiness
• Maintain and update valuation models
• Build and maintain industry databases
• Prepare materials for the regular publication of research reports, including data analysis and presentation
• Contribute to the writing of research reports, including quarterly results alerts, stock reports, and thematic pieces
• Communicate with institutional investors and company representatives, as well as internal clients (Sales, Sales-Traders, and Traders)
• Stay abreast of company and industry developments
• Strong interest in Media - Music, TV, Agencies, Education and Information Services - and a willingness to specialize in this area
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; you can engage and influence partners and stakeholders
• Enthusiasm for a team-focused environment where each individual's insight and expertise is valued

Qualifications

• A basic understanding of company accounts
• The ability to build, maintain and update a financial model would be beneficial
• Experience across TMT, Accounting or Consulting advantageous but not essential
