Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Engineering Compliance Lead to support the operational delivery of engineering services across a key EMEA account. The role focuses on strengthening statutory compliance within the contract, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and improving engineering governance. The position requires technical expertise, proactive leadership, and a strong understanding of UK Government organizations and facilities management.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading initiatives to maintain statutory compliance across all engineering activities.
- Managing the engineering function, ensuring operational delivery and governance.
- Developing compliance frameworks aligned with UK regulations and local statutory requirements.
- Monitoring compliance metrics, documentation, risk management, and corrective actions.
- Collaborating with facilities management teams, contractors, and suppliers to meet technical and legal standards.
- Providing guidance on statutory compliance and conducting audits and inspections.
- Driving continuous improvement in safety, reliability, and compliance culture.
- Participating in strategic planning, budgeting, and performance reviews.
- Leading incident response and resolution during compliance breaches.
Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 7-10 years in engineering, facilities management, or building services, with 3-5 years in compliance or senior technical leadership.
- Knowledge of UK statutory compliance including Building Regulations, Health & Safety laws, PUWER, and public sector frameworks.
- Experience working with UK Government organizations and understanding their operations and procurement processes.
- Technical qualifications such as HNC/HND, BEng, or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or professional membership (e.g., CIBSE, IMechE, IET) preferred.
- Experience managing multi-site or regional engineering functions, ideally with international compliance standards.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and reporting skills.
- Ability to develop compliance frameworks, audit schedules, and risk strategies.
- Knowledge of FM disciplines, maintenance, asset management, and contractor performance monitoring.
- Commercial awareness and leadership skills to support strategic goals.
