Job summary

Iron Mountain is seeking an strategic Design Manager to join our EMEA Design and Construction team. You’ll lead end-to-end design delivery for critical data centre projects across London, Amsterdam, Madrid and Frankfurt, coordinating with multidisciplinary experts to meet strict engineering standards.

You’ll drive external consultants, collaborate with internal teams, monitor budgets and schedules, and manage risks to protect timelines and quality. International travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in the design delivery of mission-critical facilities such as data centres, pharma, or energy.
• Strong knowledge of complex M&E systems and relevant building codes.
• Proven ability to direct multidisciplinary design teams and manage vendor/internal stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead third-party design consultants to deliver data centre facilities meeting global specs.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with internal construction, finance, sales, and operations teams.
• Provide engineering oversight: budget, schedule, and product delivery to ensure compliance with quality and safety regulations.
• Identify engineering risks early in design to protect timelines and delivery standards.
