Job Description
You will play a vital role in monitoring and analyzing trader activities and market events. You will ensure timely P&L and risk sign-off, contributing to the accuracy and integrity of financial statements in compliance with regulatory standards.

You will be involved in monitoring and analyzing traders' activities, risk positioning, and related market events. Responsibilities include ensuring P&L and risk are signed off on time, handling daily P&L reporting during the month-end cycle, and performing income attributions as per transfer-pricing agreements. You will also ensure compliance with regulatory requirements on financial statement accuracy and completeness.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Develop partnership skills with functions such as Deal teams, Business Management, Middle Office, Technology, Front Office, and Financial Control, as well as Product Control peers in other regions.
  2. Collaborate with the EMEA GIB business and the wider F&BM team to provide support and oversight, maintaining a strong control environment and facilitating business growth.
  3. Report P&L and risk, conduct month-end close activities, analyze revenue drivers and balance sheet movements, and link business activity to full financial results.
  4. Manage the impact of legal entity and regulatory changes on product control, including Volcker Reporting requirements.
  5. Support the month-end close process with the Financial Control team by reviewing the EMEA GIB balance sheet and P&L, investigating variances, and resolving issues.
  6. Participate in projects related to EMEA GIB and finance, including system enhancements and global initiatives.
  7. Identify control issues and risks, propose improvements, and implement effective control processes.
  8. Participate in internal audits and product reviews, and be involved in new product approvals from a finance perspective.
  9. Ensure compliance with all control policies, standards, and procedures, including corporate policies, P&L and risk standards, and Volcker regulations.

Required Qualifications, Skills, And Capabilities

  • Part/Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) or equivalent with strong accounting skills and ability to navigate product P&L and balance sheets.
  • Experience in identifying and resolving control and risk management issues impacting financial results.
  • Commercial acumen and awareness of the financial services industry.
  • Effective communicator (verbal, written, listening), accustomed to working with multiple stakeholders, able to work under pressure, prioritize, and anticipate needs.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, with a focus on controls.
  • Ability to challenge existing processes, generate ideas, and solve problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, and committed individual.

  • Knowledge of banking products.
