FryerMiles are delighted to be working with a leading life sciences with an ever growing Shared Service Centre (SSC) based in Basingstoke, Hampshire supporting finance operations across the EMEA region. As part of their continued investment in financial excellence, they are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Compliance Accountant to strengthen their statutory reporting and compliance framework.

The EMEA Compliance Accountant will play a key role in supporting and coordinating the compliance function across multiple EMEA legal entities. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, a sound understanding of statutory reporting, tax, and audit processes, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including external audit and tax advisors.

You'll work collaboratively with regional finance teams and third-party providers to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of statutory financial statements, tax filings, and audits across the EMEA portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the preparation and filing of statutory accounts across multiple EMEA entities in accordance with local GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with external auditors to manage audit schedules, provide documentation, and resolve queries efficiently.
  • Ensure tax compliance across the region, including preparation and review of corporation tax returns, VAT submissions, and other local tax filings.
  • Partner with external audit and tax advisors and ensure compliance with local and group policies.
  • Provide technical accounting support and ensure compliance with US GAAP and local statutory standards.
  • Maintain and improve documentation, controls, and processes relating to statutory compliance and reporting.
  • Support internal and external stakeholders with ad-hoc analysis and reporting needs.
  • Assist in the ongoing improvement of compliance processes across the SSC, identifying automation and simplification opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of technical accounting principles (US GAAP and/or IFRS/local GAAP)
  • Experience working in a multinational or Shared Service environment, preferably covering EMEA jurisdictions
  • Demonstrated experience preparing statutory accounts and coordinating audits
  • Familiarity with tax compliance and reporting across multiple territories
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and project management abilities
  • Proficient in Excel and ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, or similar)
