Senior Procurement / Category Manager, AIS Supply Chain/IPS

Role Overview: As a Procurement Category Manager, you will develop and execute sourcing strategies for at least one complex services category, collaborating with internal partners and suppliers to reduce risks and costs. You will establish metrics to ensure supplier performance and drive results through competitive bidding, negotiations, and data analysis. Additionally, you will create global procurement processes and tools to foster innovation.

Ideal Candidate Attributes: The candidate should think long-term, manage multiple initiatives, communicate effectively, and influence stakeholders at all levels. They should be collaborative yet autonomous, highly analytical, strategic, and globally minded. Success depends on a sense of urgency, curiosity, stakeholder engagement, customer focus, and business judgment. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a complex category within Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO)
  2. Achieve cost savings through bidding and negotiations
  3. Analyze data and metrics to inform procurement strategies
  4. Understand customer needs and influence priorities across categories and regions
  5. Lead supplier selection and develop long-term supplier strategies
  6. Maintain knowledge of supply markets and supplier capabilities
  7. Develop metrics and mechanisms to monitor supplier performance
  8. Create supplier scorecards and lead business reviews to enhance partnerships
  9. Innovate procurement tools and processes to improve efficiency
  10. Support contracting processes and manage contracts post-execution

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years in procurement/category management, vendor management, contract negotiations, and bidding
  • Ability to develop and implement category strategies and influence organizationally

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or related field
  • Experience with market intelligence, commodity trends, and labor indexes
  • Success in strategy development and market trend analysis
  • Experience in data centers, engineering, or technology infrastructure sectors
  • Procurement certifications (PRINCE, LEAN, Six Sigma, PMP) are a plus
  • Experience with procurement systems and tools development
