Job summary

Lineage Logistics in Heywood, UK is seeking an Accounts Payable Team Leader to manage an AP team within our Shared Service Centre. You’ll coach, organise workloads, and drive process improvements while ensuring timely, accurate supplier payments.

This hands-on role focuses on people development, effective cross-training, and maintaining strong internal controls in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous Accounts Payable or P2P experience.
• Experience supervising or leading a team.
• Strong people-management, coaching and communication skills.
• A supportive and approachable leadership style.
• Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage priorities in a busy environment.
• Experience with ERP/AP systems; Workday or AppZen experience would be an advantage.
• Good Excel skills.
• Fluent English; additional European languages would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Accounts Payable specialists.
• Manage daily workloads, priorities and work queues.
• Hold regular one-to-ones and support individual development and training.
• Coordinate onboarding, training and cross-training within the team.
• Monitor AP performance, backlogs and service levels.
• Support the team with invoice, supplier and payment-related queries and escalations.
• Ensure processes, procedures and internal controls are followed consistently.
• Promote teamwork, accountability and a positive working environment.
• Identify opportunities to improve ways of working and support implementation of process improvements.
