Pertemps Daventry are recruiting on behalf of a long-established client in Silverstone for an EMC Test Technician job. The role offers full training and the chance to develop in a highly technical motorsport environment.

Starting salary £26,000 per annum, rising to £28,000 after a 6-month probation, with excellent career development and an experienced engineering team.

Qualifications

• OND in Electronic Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• At least one year’s industrial training or experience in related electronics is desirable; full training provided.
• Soldering skills for electrical/electronic components; SMT and discrete components advantageous.
• Good IT skills: Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Excellent written communication for technical reports.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out EMC testing on customer equipment under guidance of qualified engineers.
• Setting up, monitoring and dismantling EMC test systems.
• Installing, commissioning and maintaining specialist test equipment.
• Recording accurate test and calibration results per procedures.
• Assisting with laboratory housekeeping and equipment maintenance.
• Performing routine health and safety checks on electrical equipment.
• Reporting equipment faults and ensuring testing is completed within agreed timescales.
• Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring compliance with UKAS quality standards.

About You

• An Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Electronic Engineering or an equivalent qualification. Relevant industry experience will also be considered.
• At least one year's industrial training or experience in a related electronics field is desirable, although newly qualified candidates are encouraged to apply as full training will be provided.
• Soldering skills for electrical and electronic components. Experience with SMT and discrete components is advantageous.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce accurate technical reports.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
