Job description

Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Project Engineer

Hybrid | Up to £55,000, 2-3 days on-site in Stevenage each week. Must be a British Citizen or Dual UK National.

I'm hiring for a unique role in a standout EMC team that's split between hands-on testing in a state-of-the-art facility and embedded project support across some of the most advanced defence programmes out there.

This isn't your standard EMC job - you'll be involved across the whole product lifecycle, from early-stage concept through to final delivery, helping to shape and support the EMC strategy that keeps these systems performing exactly as they should.

Responsibilities:
  • Working directly with project teams to make sure EMC requirements are built in from the start
  • Writing key documents like EMC Control Plans, Proving Plans and Environmental Requirement Specs
  • Reviewing hardware and designs - sometimes hands-on, sometimes at your desk
  • Supporting testing and providing advice around EMC risks and mitigations
Requirements:
  • Background in electronics, electrical engineering, physics or similar
  • Solid understanding of EMC and how to apply good design principles
  • Comfortable managing your own time, working to deadlines and flexing with project needs
  • Any experience with military or aerospace EMC standards (Def Stan 59-411, Mil-Std-461 etc.) is a big plus

Due to the nature of the work, you'll need to be a British Citizen (or dual UK national) and be willing and able to undergo security clearance.

If you're looking to join a high-performing team with real impact, and you want variety, ownership, and a mix of hands-on and strategic work then this EMC role is for you.
