Job summary

Deep Sea Electronics Ltd, a global leader in generator controllers and industrial control systems, seeks an embedded software engineer for our Mansfield team. You will develop embedded C for ARM Cortex-M, covering requirements capture, design, development and verification across the full software lifecycle.

You will collaborate closely with electronics engineers and PC software teams, translate market needs into precise technical specs, and contribute to testing, documentation and ongoing

Qualifications

• Expert in Embedded C and embedded systems in a commercial engineering environment.
• Experience with Embedded Linux, Yocto and RTOS implementations.
• Familiar with Git workflows and security considerations.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and deployment.
• Translate market requirements into technical product specifications.
• Design, develop, code, test and debug system software according to specifications.
• Review code and design with peers.
• Interface with hardware design and development teams.
• Interface with PC software design and development.
• Perform product testing and fix issues; optimize products.
• Write and maintain development documentation including specs and tests.
• Use version control to manage code in a controller-oriented manner.
• Visit customer sites and attend training courses provided by the company.

Deep Sea Electronics is a global leader in the design and manufacture of generator controllers, automatic transfer switch controllers, battery chargers, and vehicle and off-highway control systems. Working as an individual or as part of a team, this embedded software engineering role covers the full software lifecycle including, requirements capture, design, development and verification. The role will involve developing software, primarily in embedded C for ARM Cortex M series microcontrollers, both at low level and application level. The role exposes the engineerto a wide range of industrial control technologies and applications.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment.
• Translate the market requirements into technical product specification.
• Design, develop, code, test and debug system software, according the technical product specification
• Review code and design
• Interface with hardware design and development
• Interface with the PC software design and development
• Perform product testing on your own and others software as required.
• Fixing software issues and optimizing the products
• Write and maintain development documentation including specifications, test plans and design descriptions.
• Make use of the company version control system to write software in controller manner.
• Visit customer sites and attend training courses identified and provided by the company.

Requirements:

• Expert in Embedded C
• Embedded Linux
• Yocto Build systems
• Real Time Operating Systems, suchas Free RTOS / Segger emBOS /ThreadX
• Git and GitFlow
• Security techniques and cyberssecurity analysis
• Familiar with stage gated / agiledevelopment approaches
