Shure is looking for a Senior Embedded Software Development Engineer with a background in wireless protocols to work on designing and implementing software for our market-leading wireless audio products.

We are seeking a software quality enthusiast with strong technical leadership skills to take ownership of projects, mentor team members, and collaborate effectively with our large engineering team.

Responsibilities

  1. Analyze industry-standard digital wireless communication protocols.
  2. Develop drivers (e.g., I2C, SPI, UARTs, LCDs, timers) on target hardware.
  3. Develop products using SAFe/Agile methodologies and best practices.
  4. Lead cross-functional development teams to design and implement advanced audio products and technologies.
  5. Estimate, organize, and document tasks.
  6. Apply established software development methodologies focusing on reusability, maintainability, reduced complexity, high cohesion, and low coupling.
  7. Review design and code developed by peers.

Qualifications

  1. BSc Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Electrical Engineering (MSc preferred).
  2. Approximately 5+ years of experience.
  3. Enthusiast in real-time embedded software development using C++/C with a good understanding of real-time operating systems.
  4. Experience with wireless protocol stack development and testing for cellular, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth protocols.
  5. Broad understanding of driver datasheets and debugging tools such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
  6. Proven ability to apply key software design principles like separation of concerns, high cohesion, and low coupling to facilitate reuse and maintainability.
  7. Ability to decompose large, complex software systems into manageable subsystems with clear interfaces.
  8. Exercise independent judgment in selecting methods and evaluation criteria.
  9. Desirable: Hardware knowledge, including reviewing schematic diagrams and understanding target board layout for signal testing.
  10. Experience with software version control and release procedures.
  11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  12. Effective team player, comfortable working in an agile environment.
  13. Strong quality consciousness.
