Job summary

Redline Group Ltd in Fareham, UK is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design and implement low-level C software for microcontrollers and embedded devices, with a focus on performance, reliability and resource efficiency.

You will work on FreeRTOS-based systems, use JTAG and oscilloscopes for debugging, contribute to features on RISC-V platforms, and collaborate across hardware and software teams to deliver robust, high-quality solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Physics or related field with 2:1 or higher.
• Practical embedded C programming experience.
• Experience with FreeRTOS or another RTOS.
• Experience with Git/source control.
• Experience with unit testing and strong numeracy.
• Familiarity with ISO9000 standards and version control systems.
• Desirable USB firmware / low-level USB protocols knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded software: Develop efficient, low‑level code in C for microcontrollers and embedded systems, ensuring optimal performance, resource usage and reliability.
