Embedded Software Engineer, Ring, Cambridge

Ring, part of the Amazon Devices family, is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join their team in Cambridge, United Kingdom. The role involves developing the next generation of home security devices, focusing on IoT products, firmware development, and collaboration across teams to ensure product quality and functionality.

Responsibilities include:

1. Developing new code and unit tests for device features and fixes.
2. Collaborating with QA teams to ensure proper testing.
3. Working with device and infrastructure teams to ensure device functionality.
4. Tracking feature development and deployment progress.

Qualifications:

• Experience with architecture and design of embedded systems.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or C# with object-oriented design skills.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Extensive experience in embedded development with C/C++, ARM CPUs, and low-level driver programming.
• Knowledge of wireless protocols (Z-Wave, ZigBee, BLE, WiFi).
• Experience with firmware development, testing, and tools like IAR/Keil/GCC, Git.
• Familiarity with bus protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, and Linux environments.
• Additional pluses include experience with system bring-up, manufacturing testing, Python, and sensor data analysis.
