HUBER+SUHNER Polatis in Cambridge seeks an experienced Software Engineer to develop embedded software for its optical switching products. You will work on architecture, design, and integration of real-time software in Linux environments.

The role requires hands-on C development, knowledge of boot processes, Device Tree and kernel drivers, plus collaboration with hardware engineers to deliver high-performance solutions. On-site with benefits included.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Software Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years’ experience developing software in C for embedded systems.
• Experience with ARM-based microcontrollers.
• Strong understanding of coding standards and best practices.
• Experience developing software in Linux environments.
• Knowledge of Linux boot processes, Device Tree configuration and kernel drivers.
• Experience integrating open-source libraries.

Aufgaben

• Design, develop and maintain embedded software components in Linux environments.
• Collaborate with software architects and senior engineers on scalable, high-performance solutions.
• Take ownership of modules from concept to deployment.
• Develop applications in C using POSIX APIs.
• Interface with hardware teams to integrate software on platforms.
• Troubleshoot HW-SW interactions and debug issues using methodical approaches.
