Job summary

A technology resource firm is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer for a 6-month contract in Stevenage. The role involves developing and testing embedded software, producing test scripts, and performing analysis using various testing tools. Candidates should have experience with C programming and testing ARM-based platforms. This role is ideal for those with a background in real-time operating systems and model-based development.

Qualifications

• Experience with C programming language.
• Experience testing software products for ARM-based multi-core processing platforms.
• Experience with communications protocols (SPI, UART, Ethernet, PCI-Express).
• Experience with DOORS.
• Experience with test tools in host and target environments.
• Knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems like PikeOS or FreeRTOS.

Overview

Embedded Software Engineer (C) — 6 month contract — Based in Stevenage

Responsibilities

• Developing, integrating, and testing embedded software
• Producing test requirements & test scripts for Unit, Subsystem, and System level testing on both host and target platforms
• Running tests, analysing results, and using target test facilities such as debuggers, probes, logic analysers, and oscilloscopes
• Documentation and design work in UML

Qualifications

• Experience with C programming language
• Experience testing software products for ARM-based multi-core processing platforms
• Experience with communications protocols (e.g. SPI, UART, Ethernet, PCI-Express)
• Experience with DOORS
• Experience with test tools and techniques in both host and target environments
• Experience with test tools such as LDRA or equivalent for host testing
• Experience in model-based development, either in SysML/UML
• Knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems such as PikeOS or FreeRTOS
