Location: Runcorn, UK What You Will Do:
  • Lead the design and development of innovative, customer-focused products and systems.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and plan investments in tools, training, and infrastructure to support development goals.
  • Solve complex technical challenges independently and contribute to long-term product and technology strategy.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Marketing, and global teams to guide product planning and innovation.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship, while ensuring best practices and consistent quality across development processes.
  • Manage software development activities across the full life cycle, including documentation, standardization, and compliance with regulatory and cybersecurity standards.
  • Contribute to intellectual property development and foster international collaboration.
  • Represent the organization at vendor sites, customer meetings, and industry events (up to 10% travel).
Who you are:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline (or equivalent experience); advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and strong expertise in embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Skilled in using software development tools (IDEs, compilers, debuggers, emulators, test frameworks) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Experience in managing design projects, interpreting hardware schematics, and collaborating in global, cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to write clear, compliant technical documentation (IEC 62304) and define/manage critical software requirements.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a continuous learning mindset to support technical innovation.
