Job description

Job Title: Software & Electronics Engineer – Deep Water Intervention Vehicles

Industry: Marine Technology / Subsea Engineering / Offshore Operations

Overview:

Step into the deep. Join an elite engineering team developing advanced Deep Water Intervention Vehicles designed for critical subsea operations in some of the planet’s most extreme environments. Whether it's infrastructure repair, inspection, or data collection at depth, your work will drive the technology that makes it possible.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Design and develop embedded software using C, C++ and C# for complex control systems operating below 3,000m.
  2. Build real-time, multi-threaded and multi-process applications for vehicle control, sensor integration, and mission management.
  3. Program microcontrollers to interface with precision actuators, sensors, and diagnostic subsystems.
  4. Design intelligent control systems for stability, precision maneuvering, and adaptive task execution.
  5. Implement communication protocols such as RS232, RS485, SPI, I²C, and Ethernet in harsh subsea environments.
  6. Prototype custom PCBs using breadboarding, hand-soldering, and lab test equipment.
  7. Design analogue and digital circuits for power, sensing, and signal conditioning.
  8. Create and review PCB layouts using Altium (or similar), optimizing for performance, reliability, and marine compliance.
  9. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and produce clear, accurate technical documentation.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Strong hands-on experience in embedded systems and electronics.
  • Deep understanding of real-time systems and hardware-software integration.
  • Practical experience in control and communication systems for demanding environments.
  • A detail-driven mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
