Job summary

Technical Futures Ltd is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer with strong embedded Linux experience (Yocto) to work across medical, smart home, energy and defence sectors. The role offers a challenging mix of projects and close collaboration with clients.

You will build and maintain Yocto based distributions, write firmware for microcontrollers (bare metal or FreeRTOS), and tackle low level bootloader and driver work.

Qualifications

• At least 1–2 years commercial Embedded Linux experience.
• Experience with Yocto-based distributions.
• Ability to read schematics and debug firmware.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Yocto-based Linux distributions.
• Write and debug firmware for microcontrollers (bare metal/FreeRTOS).
• Work across bootloader, kernel drivers and real-time firmware.
• Support products in the field.
