Job summary

Spire Global is seeking an experienced Embedded Linux/Software Engineer to join our Platform team, working on spacecraft software and nanosatellite systems. You will contribute to data collection capabilities, fault-tolerant designs, and real-time communication protocols.

The role requires strong C/C++, Yocto, and Linux experience, with collaboration across hardware and software teams. The position offers a hybrid work model with three days per week in the Glasgow office, and opportunities to

Qualifications

Experience developing embedded Linux systems for space, aerospace, or safety-critical environments.
Strong knowledge of C/C++ and scripting (Bash/Python).
Familiarity with Yocto and kernel module development is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain and develop daemons interfacing with embedded systems using low- and high-level protocols.
Implement communication interfaces between embedded systems and higher-level processes.
Integrate C libraries for hardware interfaces and contribute to fault-tolerant designs.
Collaborate with hardware engineers for board bring-up and testing.
Spin up new designs and maintain products with Yocto-focused workflows.
Support Xilinx MPSoC systems and other platforms.
