ELVS Senior Project Manager – City of London – £80,000

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in delivering complex ELVS or MEP projects? An exciting opportunity has opened to lead a major Extra-Low Voltage Systems package in the heart of the City of London. If you’re looking to take ownership of a high-profile build from preconstruction through to commissioning and handover, this role is for you.

The Senior Project Manager position

You’ll be the driving force behind the successful delivery of a major ELVS project, leading a cross-functional team of planners, quantity surveyors, engineers, subcontractors, and software specialists.

The scope includes Building Management Systems (BMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), Security, Communications & Network Systems (CNS), Smart Technologies, and Master Systems Integrator (MSI) works. You’ll manage all stages — from early planning to commissioning and final handover — ensuring quality, safety, time, and budget expectations are exceeded.

Key responsibilities

  1. Team Leadership & Coordination
  • Line-manage planners, QSs, project engineers, and software engineers
  • Align subcontractor PMs, engineers, and installation teams with project goals
  • Set clear objectives, review performance, and foster strong communication
  • Programme & Controls
    • Develop and manage the integrated programme
    • Chair regular “look-ahead” meetings and update forecasts
    • Issue Early Warning and Delay Notices in line with contractual obligations
  • Commercial & Contractual Oversight
    • Work with QS to control costs, manage variations and claims
    • Review subcontractor costs and protect project margin
    • Ensure contract deliverables, valuations, and accounts are submitted accurately and on time
  • Risk Management & Quality Assurance
    • Lead risk workshops and implement mitigation plans
    • Enforce CDM-compliant H&S standards and conduct site QA audits
    • Resolve non-conformances quickly and effectively
  • Commissioning & Handover
    • Oversee integrated testing and software/network commissioning
    • Coordinate O&M manuals, training, and successful client handover
    • Ensure all contract obligations are closed out post-handover

    Skills and experience required

    Essential:

    • Proven experience leading large-scale ELVS or MEP projects in London
    • Track record of managing multi-discipline teams
    • Solid commercial and contractual understanding
    • Confident using project tools such as MS Project or Asta Powerproject

    Desirable:

    • Background in smart buildings, MSI, or digital building systems
    • Experience with BIM workflows and digital twin platforms
    • Knowledge of sustainability frameworks (e.g., BREEAM, NABERS)

    Salary and benefits

    • Competitive salary dependent on experience (PAYE)
