Role: Senior Project Manager

Location: Oundle, Peterborough

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week

Take your substantial experience in systems integration, combine it with your exceptional leadership skills and customer-focused approach, and you have just what we’re looking for in our Sr. Project Manager position within the Eltek Systems team.

We need someone who adopts a “get it right the first time” approach to projects, faces challenges confidently, and inspires their project team to perform safely and effectively.

About the role

You will work directly with clients in the food and beverage industry, collaborating with their design and management teams. Your knowledge of PLC-based control system architecture, PLC, HMI, and SCADA coding, as well as machine safety and integrated system safety, will be vital in leading projects from initial negotiation to final testing.

Throughout all stages, you will nurture and develop client relationships, applying your strategic and tactical skills to ensure high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction.

You will be part of our supportive Eltek team in Northamptonshire, reporting to the General Manager of the Eltek Systems business unit.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and present detailed technical proposals and quotations for bespoke control systems, including tendering and cost estimation, negotiating pricing, rework, or variations.
  • Liaise directly with customers at all project stages, including their internal design and management teams.
  • Provide technical supervision for system design, build, and installation personnel.
  • Review design and testing of control systems to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and legislative requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health & Safety procedures.
  • Prepare and present project reviews and evaluations, including earned value analysis, to management.
  • Lead and support your team’s skill development aligned with business goals.
  • Collaborate with other Project Managers to develop existing client relationships and identify future opportunities.
  • Personally visit customer sites as needed.

The Person:

  • High-level knowledge and experience with:
    - control systems for manufacturing environments
    - PLC-based control system architecture
    - PLC, HMI, and SCADA coding
    - system testing of software and hardware
    - machinery safety design and standards
    - on-site commissioning of control systems
  • Proven leadership and team management experience, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to produce and understand control system design documents.
  • Qualifications at HNC/HND/degree level in a relevant discipline, or substantial system integration experience.
  • Ability to develop and maintain key customer and internal relationships.
