About the role:

Your role will be to design, develop, and support the delivery of high-quality industrial control panels and systems across various projects, primarily in the food and beverage sector. You will see your work drive real improvements for leading clients in the UK and internationally.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design industrial control panels, MCCs, and automation hardware according to customer specifications, safety standards (IEC, UL, BS EN), and project requirements.
  • Create detailed hardware schematics, block diagrams, general arrangements, and wiring schedules.
  • Produce accurate hardware documentation, equipment lists, cable schedules, and BOMs.
  • Collaborate with project managers, control system engineers, and panel technicians for seamless project delivery.
  • Support procurement and address technical queries during assembly, installation, and commissioning.
  • Participate in hardware design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Engage professionally with clients, suppliers, and colleagues, providing solutions-focused support.
Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience in designing industrial control panels, MCCs, or automated hardware in process or manufacturing industries.
  • Experience with CAD software and creating electrical schematics with a methodical approach.
  • Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., BS EN 61439, IEC 60204, UL508A) and electrical safety practices.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs, relays, safety devices, VSDs, HMIs, and related components.
  • Relevant engineering qualification (HNC, HND, Degree) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Food and beverage industry experience is a plus.
  • Customer-facing experience and ability to manage technical projects efficiently.
