Job summary

Farndon Fields Primary School is seeking an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) to join our team. The successful candidate will provide emotional support to students, promote positive mental health, and help develop social and emotional learning in collaboration with teachers and parents.

The role is based at Farndon Fields Primary School in Market Harborough, offering 32.5 hours per week during term-time plus inset days, with a permanent contract.

Qualifications

• NVQ 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
• Level 2 qualifications in maths/numeracy and English/literacy or equivalent.
• Experience of supporting teaching and learning in a formal setting.
• Experience in Early Years Foundation Stage and/or Key Stage 1 or 2.
• Previous ELSA experience.

Responsibilities

• Working with individuals or groups of children experiencing difficulties with emotional literacy or other school/home life aspects.
• Establishing supportive, caring and secure relationships with children and being available for individual support.
• Develop knowledge of learning/behaviour needs and plan/implement appropriate programmes for emotional literacy and wellbeing.
• Creating and producing resources for intervention programmes as appropriate.
