Job summary

Newcastle United's Academy is seeking an experienced Physiotherapist (PDP) to deliver high-quality musculoskeletal assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for the U18–U21 pathway within a Category 1 environment. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, provide pitchside care, design individualised return-to-play plans and contribute to player welfare, long-term development and performance.

The role requires HCPC registration, CSP membership and FA safeguarding, with flexible hours

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
• FA Level 5 ATMMiF.
• CSP Membership.
• HCPC Registration.
• FA Safeguarding Certificate.
• Strong understanding of youth development and the Elite Player Performance Plan.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Highly organised approach with strong professional standards.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours and travel in line with Academy football.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation for Academy players.
• Design and implement individualised rehabilitation and return-to-play programmes.
• Provide pitchside trauma care for training and matchdays in line with FA and Premier League standards.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation on the Clubs electronic systems.
• Support screening, profiling and monitoring processes across Academy age groups.
• Work collaboratively with sports science, strength and conditioning, psychology, nutrition and coaching colleagues.
• Communicate clearly with players, parents and coaches regarding injury status and rehabilitation progress.
• Support clinical education, CPD initiatives and physiotherapy service development.
• Uphold safeguarding, clinical governance and EPPP audit standards.
• Contribute to player and parent education on injury prevention, recovery and wellbeing.
