Job summary

Newcastle United is seeking an Academy Physiotherapist (PDP) to deliver high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy to U18-U21 players in a Category 1 environment. You will assess, diagnose, treat, rehabilitate and prevent injuries, contributing to welfare and long-term development.

You will work within an interdisciplinary team, design tailored rehab and return-to-play plans, provide pitchside care, document care on electronic systems, and support safeguarding and audit standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in musculoskeletal assessment, rehabilitation and pitchside trauma management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organisational standards and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Deliver assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation for Academy players.
• Design and implement individualised rehabilitation and return-to-play plans.
• Provide pitchside trauma care for training and matchdays.
• Maintain medical documentation on electronic systems.
• Support screening, profiling and monitoring across Academy age groups.
• Collaborate with sports science, strength and conditioning, psychology, nutrition and coaching.
• Communicate injury status and rehab progress with players, parents and coaches.
• Support clinical education and CPD initiatives within the service.
