Job summary

Construction & Property Recruitment seeks a commercially sharp Quantity Surveyor to join our client in Edinburgh, a premier principal contractor specialising in luxury refurbishment and bespoke joinery across Scotland.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will manage costs from pre-construction through final accounts, procure sub-contractors, value variations, and oversee contract administration while aligning with site delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (or equivalent).
• Proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor with main contractor, sub-contractor, or interior fitter.
• Experience in premium sectors (luxury residential, hospitality, high-end retail, heritage refurbishments).
• Excellent working knowledge of JCT / SBCC contract suites.
• Strong negotiation, risk management and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence; role involves site visits across Scotland.

Responsibilities

• Cost management & reporting for high-spec fit-out and refurbishment packages.
• Procurement of specialised sub-contractors and materials.
• Value design variations and manage change control on live projects.
• Contract administration and protection of commercial interests.
• Collaborate with estimating, joinery workshops and site teams.
