Job summary

Paddle UK is recruiting a Performance Support Lead and Senior Sport & Exercise Psychologist to sit on the Flatwater Leadership Team. You will balance strategic leadership of the Performance Support Team (0.6 FTE) with applied psychology service delivery (0.4 FTE) across World Class and pathway programmes.

Based at the National Water Sports Centre, you will work with over 20 elite athletes, drive inter-disciplinary alignment, and champion athlete wellbeing with governance and data-informed

Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology with HCPC registration and postgraduate sport/clinical psychology study.
• Experience delivering sports psychology to elite athletes with crisis management.
• Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary practitioner teams and governance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead and line-manage a multi-disciplinary Performance Support Team (including analysis, S&C, physio, medical, psychology).
• Deliver specialist psychological assessments and return-to-performance interventions.
• Ensure medical governance standards with Chief Medical Officer and partners.
• Oversee integrated performance planning and data-driven decision making.
• Collaborate with coaches and external networks for holistic athlete support.
• Safeguard athlete welfare and ensure HCPC/BPS ethical standards compliance.
