Job summary

Milton Keynes Dons Football Club is seeking an experienced Kit & Cleaning Manager to lead the delivery of an elite kit, equipment and cleaning operation supporting the Club’s First Team and wider football operations.

You will manage the Kit & Cleaning team, oversee budgets and logistics, ensure facilities and dressing rooms meet high standards, and build strong relationships with players, coaches and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience managing kit/facilities within professional football or high-performance setting.
• Experience managing staff, rotas and schedules.
• Full driving licence.
• Strong organisational, logistical and time-management skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety, cleaning and laundry chemical handling.
• Familiarity with relevant policies and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient IT skills (Microsoft Office and spreadsheets).
• Ability to work independently and in a high-performance team.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing operational needs.
• Integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.
• Physical ability to perform role duties (walking, standing, bending, stretching, lifting and carrying).
• Qualifications in English and Maths.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Kit & Cleaning Department, maintaining high professional standards at all times.
• Plan and coordinate all playing, training, matchday and travel kit and equipment requirements.
• Oversee laundry operations, ensuring all kit is cleaned, maintained and prepared correctly.
• Manage the cleaning and presentation of First Team facilities, including dressing rooms, offices, dugouts and matchday areas.
• Manage staff rotas, workloads and schedules, providing leadership, support and development.
• Maintain accurate kit and equipment stock records, completing regular audits and addressing shortages or damage.
• Coordinate home and away match logistics, training camps and team travel, including packing, loading, transportation and setup.
• Manage procurement and departmental budgets, ensuring value for money and financial compliance.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, safeguarding, GDPR, FA, EFL and Club policies and procedures.
• Build effective relationships with players, coaches, support staff, management, venues and external stakeholders.
• Conduct quality checks and inspections to maintain consistently high standards.
• Manage the safe use, storage and handling of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Carry out minor kit/equipment maintenance and repairs where required.
• Respond quickly and professionally to changing operational demands and problems.
• Promote a professional, organised and high-performance environment across the Club.
