Job summary

ukme is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper (Permanent) to maintain high standards of cleanliness across assigned properties. You will manage multi-room cleaning, kitchen and bathroom duties, laundry processing, and stock management while completing safety checks and following health protocols.

Qualifications

• Able to speak and understand English (Essential)
• Experience in professional housekeeping and ability to handle the physical demands of the role (Desirable)
• Safe handling of hazardous chemicals training (Desirable)
• Valid UK driver's license, preferably manual (Desirable)

Responsibilities

• To clean assigned properties to the highest standard of cleanliness and ensure standards remain consistent in and out of season - in a 'state of readiness'.
• Keep all hallways, staircases and lifts clean and tidy; wash down, dust, polish, vacuum, sweep and mop with correct products and equipment.
• Clean all Bathrooms and Kitchens; wash dishes, ovens, hobs, cupboards, floors and shelves.
• Run water outlets regularly to prevent legionella growth; complete records and report temperature or pressure fluctuations.
• Turn mattresses periodically with others, following health and safety procedures.
• Responsible for pre-arrival set-ups, during stay services, departure deep cleaning and seasonal housekeeping maintenance as directed by Management.
• Responsible for opening/closing properties; disarm alarms at start and set alarms at end of shifts; report issues immediately.
• Ensure only legitimate staff or contractors access properties; report any access concerns to Housekeeping Office.
• Ensure contractors sign in/out; supervise adherence to company policy and tidy workplaces.
• Report maintenance problems to supervisor or Housekeeping Office.
• Process laundry for pickup/drop-off; check quality on return against standards.
• Assist Supervisors with stock takes of equipment and inventories.
• Maintain housekeeping equipment; inform Supervisors when replacement is needed.
• Monitor crockery, cutlery and linen stores; ensure supplies are maintained.
• Report damages or stains to carpets or soft furnishings immediately.
• Attend to guest requests promptly and inform supervisor of extra requests.
• Arrange food orders through housekeeping; verify delivery quantity and quality; report discrepancies.
• Handle personal items left in properties appropriately.
• Set up and service accommodation for overnight guests and meet their needs.
• Keep mobile phones in good working order.
• Be flexible with rotating shifts including weekends and Bank Holidays.
• Perform any tasks as requested by management within the scope of the position.
